Lorraine Foster

Lorraine Evje Foster, age 93, of Cameron Park, CA, and formerly of Fosston, MN, passed away on Friday, October 13th, at Marshall Medical Center in Placerville, CA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21st, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Eric Evje officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, October 20th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Lorraine Gladys Halvorson was born on September 29. 1924 in rural McIntosh, Minnesota to parents Carl and Gunda Moy Halvorson. She attended school in Trail and Gonvick, Minnesota. Lorraine was married to John Evje, Jr. on October 18, 1946. They lived in Trail before moving to Fosston in 1961 where they raised their children, Robert, Sharon, Gerald, Richard, and Jayne. During this time they purchased Dr. Cotton's Clinic and converted it into a board and care home for the elderly calling it Bethany Home. Lorraine lived in Cornerstone Assisted Living in Fosston before moving to California with her daughter Sharon and family. There she lived comfortably and lovingly until a fall breaking her hip required a nursing facility. She then entered Western Slope Health Center in Placerville, California. Lorraine passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Marshall Medical Center in Placerville at the age of 93 years.She is missed by her family, Robert (Bonnie) of Fosston, Sharon (Roger) Tiedeman of Cameron Park, CA, Gerald (Teri) of Lawrenceville, GA, Richard (Keni) of Fosston and Jayne (Dan) Good of Lakeville, MN; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Judy Halvorson of Fosston as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Evje, Lawrence Erlandson, and Allen Foster; two daughters, Judith and Janice Evje; and brothers, Vernon, Dennis and Wayne Halvorson.Honorary Pallbearers: All of her grandchildrenActive Pallbearers: Grandsons-Rob Tiedeman, Matt Tiedeman, Kris Evje, Wade Evje, Matt Evje, and Ryan Good.
