Lorraine Brekke, 80, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Monday (October 2nd) at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday (October 6th) at Vernes Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh with the Rev. Dr. Gerald White officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh.Lorraine Thelma Syverson was born on November 25, 1925 in Hill River Township, rural Trail, Minnesota to parents Ted and Linda (Christianson) Syverson. She attended school at the Lindsay School in Hill River Township and graduated from McIntosh High School. She was united in marriage to Rueben Brekke on May 27, 1950. They lived in Hill River Township until 1977 when they moved to McIntosh. They were currently residing at Poplar Meadows in McIntosh.Lorraine was a life-long member of Vernes Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, making lefse, knitting, crocheting, and family gatherings.Lorraine passed away on Monday, October 2, 2006 at First Care Hospital in Fosston at the age of 80 years.Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Rueben of McIntosh; three sons, Wesley (Valerie) Brekke of McIntosh, Wayne (Renee) Brekke of Trail, and Jeffrey Brekke of Trail; two granddaughters, Beth (Shawn) Rominski of Stephen, MN, and Sandy (Todd Enger) Brekke of Horace, ND; three great grandchildren, Emma, Mason and Henry Rominski.Also surviving are four brothers, Floyd (Delores) Syverson of Fosston, Arnold (Conne) Syverson of Trail, Entrip (Sharon) Syverson of Lakeville, MN, and Karsten (Corky) Syverson of McIntosh; six sisters, Ruby Heideman of McIntosh, Ardell (Lloyd) Opdahl of Oklee, MN, Eleanora (Morris) Hendrickson of Trail, Bernice (Jerome) Voxland of McIntosh, Gloria (Mark) Morque of Lebanon, MO, and Viola (Richard) Georgeson of Hillsboro, ND; one sister-in-law, Leona Brekke of Oklee, MN. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Verna Syverson; infant twin sister and brother; and brothers-in-law, Curtis Heideman, Art and his wife, Esther Brekke, Norris Brekke and Lloyd Brekke.
