Lillian Rue, age 94, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Thursday, July 8th at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston, with Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12th from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at Kingo Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston. Arrangements are with Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston, and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Lillian Amanda Hagen was born September 3, 1915, in Fosston, Minnesota, to parents Iver and Emma (Berg) Hagen. She was raised in Fosston by her Grandma Berg, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1932. Lillian was united in marriage to Lloyd Rue on September 12, 1936 in Fosston. They lived most of their married life in Fosston, except for a few years in Lund, Wisconsin. She remained in Fosston after Lloyd's death in 1975.Lillian was an active member of Kingo Lutheran Church for many years, which was important to her. Lillian loved music. She played piano, sang in groups and church choir, at the Embassy, and also with the Norwegian group. She spoke Norwegian, was an avid reader, and served as a volunteer for many years at the Embassy, hospital, and food shelf, among other places. She enjoyed spending time with her family.Lillian Rue passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at First Care Hospital in Fosston at the age of 94 years. She is survived by her 7 children, Roger (Linda) Rue of Kent, Washington, Elaine (David) Bertils of Fertile, Minnesota, Jacqueline Rogers of Crookston, Minnesota, Sylvia (Victor) Gelking of Fargo, North Dakota, Gordon Rue of Fosston, Minnesota, Larry Rue of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Pamela (James) Tiede of Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two brothers, Glenn (Alice) Hagen of Wheaton, Minnesota, and Alvin (Joan) Hagen of Kerkhoven, Minnesota, and many other relatives.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, grandson Scott Bertils, sisters, Evelyn Glasser, Margaret Strunk, Jewell Ridgedale, and infant sister, Marion Hagen.
