Lillian Ness

Lillian Ness, age 91, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Tuesday (February 26th) at her home in Erskine. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (March 8th) at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine in the spring. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and an online guestbook is available at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Lillian Frances Reep was born on November 3, 1916 in McVille, North Dakota to parents Thomas and Mary Reep. She grew up and attended rural school in the McVille/Michigan, North Dakota area. Following school, she worked on area farms cooking for the farm hands and helping with other daily chores.Lillian was united in marriage to Carl Ness on January 14, 1942. After their marriage, they lived in Larimore, North Dakota and then moved to her mother's family farm in Michigan. They moved to Grand Forks in 1958 and then to Erskine in 1959 where they spent the remainder of their lives. Carl passed away on August 4, 1993. Lillian held various jobs in the Erskine area, including working at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine for many years.She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine and a past member of Saron Lutheran Church of rural Erskine. She liked quilting, baking, making lefse and the quilting group at Grace always enjoyed her flatbread.Lillian passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at her home in Erskine at the age of 91 years.Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Noyes of Grand Forks, ND, and Carol (Jim) Lindseth of Page, ND; six grandchildren, Danny, Jami, Patrick, Jessica, Shiela, and Twyla; eight great grandchildren, Elyssa, Myah, Derek, Devon, Curtis, Ryan, Anthony and Amber; one sister, Sylvia Sanders of Sun City, AZ; and nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; and ten brothers and sisters.Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Lillian's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
