Leslie "Les" Jacobsen, age 74, of Moorhead, MN, and formerly of Fosston, MN, passed away on Monday, April 24th, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the National Guard Honors Team. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.Leslie Lincoln Jacobsen was born on February 12, 1943 in Marshall, Minnesota to parents Herlof and Esther Jorgenson Jacobsen. Leslie played football, basketball, and ran on his High School track team before graduating from Marshall Public High School 1960. After serving in the United States Air Force, he went to Canby Vocational Technical College and then Southwest State University, earning a degree in accounting.Leslie worked at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota and then transferred to Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota where he worked in the admission office until his retirement. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan and collector of coins and Coca Cola items.He leaves behind his lovely wife, Jean Rotness Jacobsen of Fosston, Minnesota, and two sons, Jason (Jennifer) Jacobsen of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Jarod (Cristie) Jacobsen of Dilworth, Minnesota; grandchildren, Isaac Jacobsen, Ian Jacobsen, Zoe Jacobsen, and Gabe Jacobsen; brothers Curt (Carol) Jacobson of Chaska, Minnesota, James (Gladys) Jacobsen of Marshall, Minnesota, David (Sandra) Jacobson of St Cloud, Minnesota; sister Janet (Jacobson) Van Dorpe of Glencoe, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Blanche Jacobson Nelson, Shirley Jacobson Londgren, Lois Jacobson Knoben; and brothers Lyle Jacobson, Glen Jacobson, Richard Jacobson.
