Larry Knutson

Larry Knutson, age 58, of Rialto, CA and formerly from McIntosh, MN passed away on Friday (September 26th) at his home in Rialto. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday (October 3rd) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with Pastor Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, rural McIntosh. Friends may call for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the McIntosh VFW Post #6891 and arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh. Sympathy messages may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Larry Gene Knutson was born on July 16, 1950 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Gilbert and Alice (Cole) Knutson. He grew up in McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1968. He entered the United States Marine Corps on September 12, 1968, faithfully serving his country in Vietnam until his honorable discharge on June 19, 1970. Larry was awarded the Purple Heart and the Navy Achievement Medal while serving in Vietnam.After the service, Larry worked construction as an iron worker and laborer on the missile sites in North Dakota and Montana. He settled and lived in Lolo, Montana for several years before moving to Rialto, California where he worked for Richie Brothers Auction Company. Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews.Larry passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008 at his home in Rialto at the age of 58 years.He is survived by his sisters, Beverly (Bruce) Greendahl of Fosston, Barbara (Kenneth) Retzer of Belle Plaine, MN, Tammi (Mike) Zupfer of Cleveland, MN, and Bonnie Knutson of Bellvue, CO; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Nancy.
