Donna FroirakDonna Froirak, age 67, from McIntosh, MN passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd at Thief River Falls Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Her peace has finally come after a six year battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 2:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with Pastor Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church for one hour before the service, and interment of cremains will be at St. John's Cemetery, rural McIntosh at a later date. Sip was born on October 2, 1942 in Ada, MN to Louis and Minnie Sip. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and grew up in Ada where her parents had a farm.After school in 1961, she married Duane Froirak on June, 24th. They resided in McIntosh, MN and in 1963, had a daughter, Debra. Donna and her family were members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh. Donna was a stay at home Mom until her daughter went to college in 1982, then she began working as a dietary aide at nursing homes in the Fosston and Erskine, MN areas. She enjoyed helping others and missed her work very much when her illness worsened.She loved being outdoors and working in her garden, and of course, spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was her grandsons. Donna was a wonderful person with a strength that was amazing to all. Her endurance, her will to live and the love she had for her family is a true testament to the human spirit. Her family has some comfort that her pain is over and she is reunited with her husband who passed away in April of 2009.She is survived by her mother, Minnie Sip of Ada; daughter Deb (Joe) Icenogle and grandsons, Drew and Reese all of Denver, CO; brother, Loyal (Karen) Sip of Ada; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; her father, Louis; and a baby sister, Lois.Honorary pallbearers are all her nieces and nephews.
