Kenneth Larson, age 90, from Fosston, MN passed away on Thursday, March 18th at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd at 11:00 AM at the First English Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. Dean Bell officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Fosston at a later date, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Sympathy messages may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Kenneth Marius Larson was born February 9, 1920 near Dalton in Otter Tail County, MN to Carl and Martha (Boeder) Larson. As a small child they moved to Gregory Township in Mahnomen County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.He was united in marriage to June Hill on July 24, 1942 by Rev. Albert Storstroen of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mahnomen, MN. After their marriage, Kenneth and June farmed and raised their family in Heier Township, Mahnomen County. Kenneth farmed, raised cattle, cut fire wood and pulp, and had worked at Simplot Potato Plant in Fosston, MN. He served on the Heier Township board for 46 years from 1964 until present.Kenneth enjoyed fishing, hunting especially deer, and shooting his last buck at the age of 85 years. He liked to sit on the dock by Little Vanose Lake, and had fun playing cards with his grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle person with a loving heart.Surrounded by his family, Kenneth Marius Larson passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at First Care Medical Services Nursing Home in Fosston at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 9 days.He is survived by his four children, Beverly Roue, David (Helen) Larson and Ronald (Betty) Larson all of Fosston and Evelyn (Curt) Cigelske of Lake Park, MN; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Valores Larson of Mahnomen, Donna Larson, Gloria Ostgarden, Kurmeth Hill and Boyd Hill all of Fosston, and Doris (Don) Holm of Bagley, MN; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Joyce Suckow of Fosston.He was preceded in death by his wife, June; his parents, Carl and Martha; two sisters, Gladyce Folstrom and Leada Fjeld; three brothers, Richard Larson, Clarence Larson and Leonard Larson; and son-in-law James Roue.
