Kenneth Bratager, age 88 of Fosston, MN and formerly from Winger, MN passed away on Friday, February 14th at his residence at Prairie Pines Assisted Living in Fosston. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger with Rev. Scott Morey officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. Family will also greet friends for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment of cremains will be at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Winger at a later date, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements.Kenneth Stanley Bratager was born May 2, 1925 to parents Bernt and Clara (Rensland) Bratager at Cummings, ND. He attended school in Climax, MN and then moved with his family to Winger, MN where he attended Gosen School through 8th grade.Kenneth served in the U.S. Army in Korea from December 4, 1950 to November 17, 1952 with the 11th Evacuation Hospital Unit. After his Honorable Discharge he returned home to Winger.Kenneth was married to Doris Skeie on February 4, 1972. They lived near Winger where Kenneth farmed with his brother Boyd for many years. In 2001, Kenneth and Doris moved to Fosston, MN. He was a 44 year member of the Fingstad-Solie American Legion, Post 200 in Winger, and a member of the VFW. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and the rest of his family.On Friday, February 14, 2014 Kenneth passed away at his residence at Prairie Pines Assisted Living in Fosston at the age of 88 years.He is survived by a son, Calvin (Donna) Skeie of McIntosh, MN; daughters, Patti Broden of Mentor, MN and Wanda (Bryan) Johnson of Fosston; brother, Boyd (Sylvia) Bratager of Erskine, MN; sister, Shirley Salveson of Moorhead, MN; brother-in-law, Joe (Dorothy) Sandberg of Erskine; seven grandchildren, Kristi Skeie of McIntosh, Anita (Dean) Roy of McIntosh, Ryan Broden of Fertile, MN, Aaron (Greta) Broden of Fertile, Sommar (Ryan) Kemnitz of East Grand Forks, MN, Tami (Morgan) Buetow-Staples of St. Paul, and Jennifer (Joshua) Wahlin of McGregor, MN; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; brother, Lowell Bratager; and sister, Charlotte Bonde.
