Kenneth Bergerson, age 81, of rural Gully, MN, passed away on Friday (March 23rd) at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday (March 28th) at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail, MN with Lay Minister Dawn Hanson officiating. Interment will be in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, rural Gully, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday (March 27th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Kenneth Melvin Bergerson was born on August 7, 1930 in Johnson Township, rural Gully, Minnesota to parents Bennie and Mabel (Sweno) Bergerson. He was the oldest of ten children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Kenneth was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church of rural Gully where he held several offices. He attended Poplar Isle School. Kenneth attended Plain View country school for two years while staying with his grandma, Mrs. Martin (Karen) Sweno. Kenneth was united in marriage to Evelyn Idella Peterson on October 14, 1950 at the parsonage in Gully. Kenneth purchased the family farm where he and Evelyn raised their family and had beef cattle, oats and hay. Kenneth also used his self-taught skills to do carpentry work from building homes to sheds to kitchen cabinets all around the area. Over the years, he had many family, friends and neighbors work with him on various jobs. In 2007, the farm received the honor of Century Farm. Besides farming and carpentry work Kenneth was also employed at Gully Lumber for several years in the early 1960's. He also operated a road grader/snowplow for the townships of Johnson, Gully, and Chester. In 2004, Kenneth fulfilled his longtime wish when he purchased an IH TD6 Bulldozer. His knowledge and ability enabled him to get the bulldozer working and used it around the farm.Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing and country/bluegrass music.  He and Evelyn also enjoyed many local musical jam sessions.  Family came first in his life and he will always be remembered for his radiant smile.Survivors include his wife Evelyn of 61 years; Sue Bergerson (Ambrose) Beaudoin, Carol (Bob) Connell, Linda (Lloyd) Godtland, Gail Van de Streek, Alan Bergerson, Julie (Randy) Horn, Jodi (Scot) Thompson, Jeremy (Cathy) Bergerson.26 grandchildren, Jessica (Todd) Muller, Kimberly (Gary) Hintz, Rebecca (Brian) Fredrickson, Jared (Alyssa), Justin (Sarah), and Tammi Van de Streek (special friend, Jon Mansk), Melissa (Tom) Senger, Jennifer Godtland (special friend, Jay Goodwin), Kent (Patti) Bergerson, Paul (Randi) Beaudoin, Kevin (Amy) Beaudoin, Christina (special friend, Jason Leonard), Todd, Cassondra, Brandon, and Dylan Bergerson, Jason, Jeffrey, Ryan, Aaron and Austin Horn, Tyler and Christopher Thompson, and Carlie, Jayden and Jacie Bergerson; 21 great grandchildren, Zachary, Logan, Cora and McKenzie Hintz, Michaela Fredrickson, Dustyn Handyside, Jaxon Van de Streek, Shayna, Caden, Colby, and Nevaeh Bergerson, Cole and Katie Nelson, Keegan Senger, Spencer Goodwin, Bryce and Matthew Bergerson, Jazmine and Justin Hesse, Byron Beaudoin, and Olivia Beaudoin.Also surviving are three brothers, Duane (Leona), Glenn (Crystal), and Floyd Bergerson; three sisters, Marlyce (Richard) Kerr, Corrine (special friend, Bernie) Bergerson, and Delores (Glenn) Peterson. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Mabel Bergerson; sons, Kenneth Jr., and Kevin; brothers, Melfred, Melvyn and infant brother.Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Kenneth's family and friends.Active Pallbearers will be Jessica Muller, Melissa Senger, Kent Bergerson, Jason Horn, Christina Bergerson, Tyler Thompson, Dylan Bergerson, and Carlie Bergerson.Blessed be his memory
