Junel Fasteen

Junel "Jan" Fasteen, age 69, of Fosston and formerly from Lengby and Roy Lake, MN passed away on Tuesday, January 29th at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston. A private memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with arrangements. Sympathy messages may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Junel "Jan" Carol Fjield was born on July 30, 1938 to parents Alfred and Hattie (Nelson) Fjield in Mahnomen, Minnesota where she grew up and graduated from high school.She was married to John "Jack" Fasteen and they lived in the Faribault/Morristown, Minnesota area.Jan returned to the Mahnomen area with her friend Dan Kokoschke and operated the Roy Lake Store. Jan was active in the Legion, Eagles and VFW organizations. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was also an avid snowmobiler and member of the Night Riders Club.On Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Junel "Jan" Fasteen passed away from a lengthy illness at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston, Minnesota at the age of 69 years.Survivors include her children, David (Leslie) Fasteen of Spring Lake Park, MN, Douglas (Christie) Fasteen of Minneapolis and Diane (Mark) Kvittem of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Luke and Spencer, and Cameron and Cooper; siblings, Pamela (Leroy) LaFrienere of Mahnomen, John (Toshi) Fjield of Lubbock,TX and Curtis Fjield and his friend Beverly of Washington; and Dan Kokoschke of Lengby.She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Debra; grandson, Kyle Kvittem; and five brothers and sisters.The family would like to acknowledge the First Care Nursing Home in Fosston with a special "thank you".
