He was the third child in the family. The family moved to Fosston, MN in 2012 where Josh attended Fosston High School and graduated in 2017. He loved being with his family and friends, farming, hunting, his mom's banana bars, auto mechanics and four-wheeling and was an active member of the Headwaters Trail Crawlers organization. Josh loved to spend time with his friends "getting lost" on the country roads of Northwest Minnesota, and one of his favorite sayings was, "It will buff". He always made anything a fun time, and he found excitement in the simple things that life brought. It seemed he could make anyone smile even on a bad day.It is hard to sum up a young man such as Josh in a simple obituary as he was larger than life, always wore a smile (and a baseball cap), and a kind and friendly person to all who knew him. He loved his family and his friends and was always there if someone needed a word of encouragement, an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on. Josh was the kind of friend that never let anyone go hungry or homeless, ever. His friends knew that no matter what they could go home with Josh and be welcomed with open arms and a hot meal. Josh is survived by his parents, Nathan and Jody, his 3 siblings, Shelbie (Trevor) Wixo of Fosston, MN, Amber (Eugene) Maske of Fosston, MN, and Nicholas of Gully, MN. His grandparents, Neal and Jolene Anderson of Gully, MN and his grandmother, Lorraine Schendel of Fosston, MN. His nieces Natalie and Madilyn, and nephew Chad, special friend Kaitlyn Martine, aunts and uncles and cousins, and friends beyond measure, as well as his faithful dog, Dutchy. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Schendel; and Great-Grandma, Doris Anderson. For those who knew Josh and felt his kindness, friendship and love this loss runs truly deep.
