Jon Goss

Jon Goss, age 71, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Friday, May 7th, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18th, at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center Chapel in Erskine with Pastor Tyler Stynsberg officiating. Military honors will be provided by the National Guard Honors Team and arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Erskine. All are welcome to attend. Jon Bradley Goss was born December 5th, 1949 to parents Walter and Cordelia (Wollan) Goss, in Fargo, ND. He was welcomed by his older brother Frank.  Jon attended primary school in Hunter, ND and graduated High School from Oak Grove High School, Fargo, ND.  Every Friday his mother would put Jon and his brother in their best clothes, pressed pants, shirts, and ties.  After High School Jon was drafted into the United States Army.  He completed his basic training in Fort Hood, Texas.  After his basic training he was a military police officer.  He was deployed to Vietnam to work as a Mechanic on Huey Helicopters, during the conflict.  He was honorably discharged when his father was dying, and he needed to come home.

Upon his return home he met Laurel Evanson and they married on June 26, 1976, in Northwood, ND.

Jon worked for Napa Parts in Fargo, ND and was transferred to Fosston, MN, and that is where they made their home.

Jon was a born “fix it guy” and he could fix any vehicle and was a whiz with computers.  He held numerous jobs in the Fosston area.

Jon is survived by his brother, Frank of Lakewood, CO; three children, Melissa (Ron) Bergman of Mentor, MN, Brad Goss (Ariel) of Fosston, MN, and Andrew Goss of Montgomery, AL; and one grandchild, Noah Bergman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
