John Edward Sherer, age 50, of Fosston, MN passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 29th at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3rd at 2:30 PM at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral at the church. Interment will be at a later date at Pine Bend Cemetery, Pine Bend, MN, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Sympathy messages may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.John Edward Sherer was born on January 22, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN the son of John Burdette and Edith Victoria (Peterson Askevaag) Sherer.He was united in marriage to Diane Kaye Abeldgaard on February 12, 1981 in Bagley, MN. To this union three children were born, Katie Othelia, Matthew John and Daniel Patrick.He was united in marriage to Michelle Joyce Johnson on August 17, 1991 in Lengby, MN. To this union one child was born, Shanna Nicole.In October of 2007 John began dating Darci Schultz and spent the remainder of his time on earth with her.John lived in Fosston, MN and was employed at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN from May 2006 to the time of his passing as a Lead Security Guard.In his free time John enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, deer hunting, gardening, cooking and doing his beautiful beadwork that he graciously gave to others. He was also a very talented artist and drew and painted many paintings which he gave to his children. But John most enjoyed spending time with his children and his new granddaughter, Shayla Kaye. John was well known for his unique sense of humor and was a lover of life and family and will be deeply missed.On Monday, December 29, 2008 John Sherer passed away unexpectedly at First Care Hospital in Fosston at the age of 50 years.John is survived by his significant other, Darci Schultz of Fosston; sons, Matthew (Tabitha Ellingworth) of Fosston and Daniel of Lengby; daughters, Katie (Andrew Damann, Jr.) Sherer of Lengby and Shanna Sherer of Fosston; brothers, Big John Sherer of Minneapolis, Rowe Sherer of Cass Lake, MN, David Aspen of Fosston, Jay Sherer of Fosston and Jere (Denise) Sherer of McIntosh, MN; sisters, Francis Sherer of Cass Lake, Henrietta Sherer of Cass Lake, Sharon Sherer of Cass Lake, Iris Sherer of California, Janet (Ronald) Klinke of Lengby, Elouise (Dennis) Olson of Fosston, Linda (Carrol) Melbo of Fosston, Juliann Klinke of Fosston, Diane (Jr.) Kappedal of Lengby, Joy Sherer of Fosston, Jodi Sherer of New York Mills, MN and Julaina (Jeremy) Seglem of Erskine, MN; many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anita Klinke in 2006; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.Blessed be his memory
