John Risch

John Risch, age 74, resident of Union Lake, and formerly of Crookston, MN, passed away on Tuesday, November 14th at his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com. He was born in Crookston, Minnesota to parents Howard and Mayme (Johnson) Risch on march 17, 1943. He served in the National Guard Reserve from 1963-1969. He retired from Bemis in 2005 after a 40 year career. John loved to fish, hunt, hike, canoe and most of all spending time at the lake with his family and friends. John was a patient, humble and genuinely kind man who always put others first and was happy with a day enjoying the view of the beautiful water. He is survived by his son, Troy (Renee) Risch of Frisco, TX; sibling, Mary Carlson of Hastings, MN; 5 grandchildren, McKenna Risch, Haley Risch, Skylar Risch, Elle Risch and Jake Risch; nephews, John (Pam) Carlson of Fargo, ND, Mike (Carolyn) Carlson of Louisville, KY, and Bob (Shelley) Carlson of Big Fork, MT; nephews, Kay (Joe) Caturia of Hastings, MN, Jody Bouchard of Gordon, WI, and Kari (Tim) McCord of Hastings, MNHe was preceded in death by his parents.
