Those We Love Don’t Go Away,
They Walk Beside Us Everyday,
Unseen, Unheard but Always Near,
Still Loved, Still Missed, and Held So Dear.
Jodell Renee Miller was born on April 4th, 1953, in Grand Forks, ND, to Arthur Morris Miller and Ethel Isabelle Jenkins Miller. Jodi is lucky enough to share this birthday with her twin sister Jackie. Jodi was baptized and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston, MN. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1971, along with the love of her life Thomas William Nelson.
Tom and Jodi were high school sweethearts, and they were married on May 24th, 1975, in Fosston at Kingo Lutheran Church, which is where they chose to live and raise their family, Jessica Nelson Glad and Amanda Nelson Pascuzzi.
Jodi attended nursing school at Moorhead State University and received her LPN degree. She began working in Fosston at the Fosston Hospital and later received her RN degree and began working in Home Health Care for Clearwater County. It was there that she really found her passion for home health care. She loved each of her patients like her own family, often bringing home homemade gifts and recipes.
Jodi moved back to Fosston and spent the next 28 years in a variety of hospital administration areas, but hospice and homecare were always her passion. She firmly believed in dignity in death, and she was a strong advocate for her patients and was a comfort to so many.
When Jodi wasn’t working, she loved to bake and cook as well as tend her garden. She especially enjoyed seeing her daughters and her six grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, of Fosston, sisters Jacelyn (Jackie Miller) Randall (Mark) of Fosston, Marian Jenkins of Fosston, Gloria (James) Bjornerud of Appleton, WI, her brother Edward (Linda) Miller of Fosston, her daughter Jessica Nelson Glad of Blaine, MN, and her daughter Amanda Nelson Pascuzzi (Tony) of Cook, MN; 6 grandchildren, Thomas Glad, Gabby Glad, Izzy, Vinny, Josey, and Charlotte Pascuzzi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Arthur Miller II.
