JoAnn Theis, age 65, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Friday (July 2nd) at her home in McIntosh surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 10th) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston with Father Dave Super presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Hansville, rural Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday (July 9th) and for one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.JoAnn Agnes Randall was born on September 15, 1944 in Brownwood, Texas to parents Elmer and Helen (Udras) Randall. JoAnn started school in Bemidji, Minnesota and, in 1955, moved with her family to Fosston. She was a 1962 graduate of Fosston High School. After school, she moved to Duluth, Minnesota where she attended the Duluth School of Practical Nursing. JoAnn got her nurses diploma on January 10, 1964. She was a nurse at various hospitals and nursing homes.She was united in marriage to Robert Theis on April 10, 1964 at Fosston. JoAnn was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching scary movies, going fishing and family get togethers. But her greatest joy was her children and her grandchildren.JoAnn passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 65 years.Survivors include her four daughters, Michelle Olson of McIntosh, Mary (James) Olson of McIntosh, Debbie (Wesley) Svalen of Oklee, MN, Kristie (Chey) Theis of McIntosh; two sons, Mike (Lori) Theis of Fosston, and Matt Theis of McIntosh; grandchildren, Mark, Kaitlin, Cody, Morgan, Mikah, Jamison, Benjamin, Daniel, Callie, Zach, Brianna, and Isabelle; five great grandchildren, Andrew, Peyton, Kierra, Chloe, and Ava; her mother, Helen Randall of Fosston; brothers, Jim (Patty) Randall of Alaska, Mark (Jackie) Randall of Fosston; sisters, Linda (Gary) Sistad of Ulen, MN. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her son, John Paul Theis; father, Elmer Randall; and sister, Diane Guminga.
