Joann Olson

Joann Olson, age 80, of Fosston, MN, formerly of Barnesville, MN, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Sunday, April 23^rd, at Cornerstone Living Extended Care in Fosston. Joann was born on December 13, 1942, to Calma and Walter K. Olson in Clay County, Minnesota. She attended school in Barnesville, Minnesota, and graduated from Barnesville High School on May 26, 1961. She resided in Fosston, Minnesota for the majority of her life.

In her early years, she worked as a housekeeper and babysitter. She enjoyed shopping, writing letters, and going for walks. She is survived by one sister, Delores Canon of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Calma Hanson and siblings: Gladys Moberg, Anna Nicklay, Walter K. Olson Jr., infant sisters: Alice, Betty, and Caroline, and two half-brothers: Morris Venstad and James Hanson. Joann will be laid to rest next to her mother Calma Hanson in the Barnesville City Cemetery.
