Jewell Ridgedale

Jewell Ridgedale, age 88, of Fosston, MN passed away on Tuesday, April 21st at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, MN. A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family at the time of interment at Devils Lake, ND. Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements.Jewell Gladys Hagen was born on July 24, 1920 in Fosston, Minnesota to Iver and Emma (Berg) Hagen. She grew up and attended school in Fosston.Jewell was married to Howard Hendrickson on January 14, 1936; to this union Harlan and Joan were born.She married Herbert Edwin Ridgedale on January 15, 1955. They moved to Kent, Washington in 1956 and worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company until they retired. They enjoyed salmon fishing around the Puget Sound area. They also enjoyed traveling in their motor home. They belonged to the Travel Elks and the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and spent some winters in California with the Travel Elks. Jewell enjoyed her trips to Norway, Scotland and England to visit family and friends. Jewell and her daughter, Joan moved back to Fosston in November of 2000.On Tuesday, April 21, 2009 Jewell Ridgedale passed away at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, MN at the age of 88 years.She is survived by her son, Harlan and his wife Marilyn (Duncan) Hendrickson of Duluth, MN; her daughter, Joan Bishop of Fosston; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sister, Lillian Rue of Fosston; brothers, Glenn and his wife Alice Hagen of Wheaton, MN and Alvin and his wife Joan Hagen of Kerkhoven, MN; cousins in California and Norway; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and sisters, Evelyn Glasser, Margaret Strunk and Marion Hagen.
