Jerome Sovick, age 67, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Monday (February 22nd) at Lakewood Health Systems Hospital in Staples, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (February 26th) at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Poplar River Cemetery, rural Fosston, in the spring. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday (February 25th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. He grew up in Fosston and graduated from Fosston High School with the class of 1962. Jerome lived in Fosston for most of his life except for a short time in Erskine and McIntosh, Minnesota. He was currently a resident at the Midway Care Center in Fosston.He worked at the Occupational Development Center in Crookston and Fosston. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. He loved sports of all kinds and took great interest in the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings.Jerome passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Lakewood Health Systems Hospital in Staples, Minnesota at the age of 67 years.Survivors include seven siblings, Joann (Robert) Maruska of Bagley, MN, Sandra (Bernard) Viktora of Pharr, TX, Leon Sovick of Minneapolis, MN, Linda Arnold of Bemidji, MN, Diane (Raymond) Maruska of Lengby, MN, Steven (Mary) Sovick of Fosston, and Gail (Paul) Deihl of Detroit Lakes, MN; brother-in-law, Wilfred Maruska of Fosston; aunt, Shirley Anderson of Fosston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Maruska; nephew, Kevin Maruska; niece, Carol Arnold; and brother-in-law, Richard Arnold.Honorary Pallbearers will be the residents and staff of Midway Care Center.Active Pallbearers will be Dennis Maruska, Tom Maruska, Jeff Maruska, Todd Bjerke, Nathan Pederson, Mike Maruska, and Tim Maruska.
