Jeremy Raisanen

Jeremy Ray Raisanen of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania died unexpectedly on March 7, 2017 at the age of 41. Jeremy was born in Cloquet, MN on August 17, 1975 to Linda and Richard Raisanen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Cloquet high school in 1993 and then went on to college to study accounting. After completing a year of school, he began working at Black Bear Casino in Carlton, MN. He later traveled to Nevada, Florida and finally to Pennsylvania, continually advancing his skills as a dealer of every type of Casino game. Jeremy was a very experienced Casino dealer and became proficient as a poker and a blackjack dealer.He met Evelyn Blue who was working as a blackjack dealer in MN. She was from Cedu City, Philippines and proudly obtained her citizenship in the U.S. They were married on October 25, 2010 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Erskine MN where his mother was residing, with Pastor Tim Lundeen performing the ceremony. Besides working together, he enjoyed taking long walks with his wife and caring for their 3 cats. They did some traveling and enjoyed learning about each new state that they moved to. He came back to MN as often as possible to see his mother, grandmother, and other family and friends. Jeremy was devastated when his older brother Jason, who he looked up to with great admiration, was suddenly killed in an accident in 1998.Jeremy is survived by his wife Evelyn Raisanen (née Blue); his parents Linda DeNell of Fosston MN and Richard Raisanen (Sharon) of Mora MN; his brother Brandon Lundquist of Cloquet MN; grandmother DeLaine Oppegaard of Fosston MN; aunts and uncles and one cousin Justin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Raisanen of Eau Claire WI; his grandfather Parnell Oppegaard of McIntosh MN; and his grandparents Bill and Avis Raisanen of Cloquet MN. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine MN on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Lundeen officiating. Honorary pall bearers are Jason Korby, Shawn Roy, Keith Linegren, and Kevin Millberger. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston.
