Jean (Fenske) Bosacker, age 70, of North Mankato, MN and formerly of Lengby, MN, passed away on Tuesday, March 14th, at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton, MN. A graveside service will be held at Noon on Sunday, May 21st, at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Lengby, with the Rev. Gene Lilienthal officiating. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Fosston and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com.
Jean was born December 26th, 1952, to Ralph and Jeanette (Wandschneider) Fenske in Grand Rapids, MN. She died March 14, 2023, shortly after proclaiming “I pulled hard for the Team!” She meant the Mayo Care Team and she sure had, but we started too late. She grew up in idyllic Lengby, just north of White Earth. She came to Bethany Lutheran College and sang in the choir. She worked her way through Bethany then MSU studying first Home Economics and then Special Education. After marrying Mark, she spent the next 40 years educating him and working as a seamstress. First in a tailor shop and later for a garment service. She filled the freezers from her vegetable garden, was a wonderful cook and her flower gardens beautified the block. She loved making intricate needle art with her CNC sewing machine and reading. She was a strong independent woman, very kind, smart and fun to talk with. She will be greatly missed.
Jean is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mark Bosacker; stepdaughter, Sarah (Michael) Venaccio; sister, Carla Albrecht; nieces, Jenny (Michael) Granlie, Kristi (Peter) Moch, Jill (Joe) Courtney, Cheryl (Craig) DeClerq; nephew, John (Abbey) Bosacker; great-nieces and nephews, Gracyn, Avery, Evan, Liam Granlie and Ben, Isaac, Amelia Moch.
The family would like to thank Mayo Clinic, Mapleton Community Home and St. Croix Hospice for their kind and competent care for Jean. The family requests that memorial gifts be designated for cancer research at Mayo Clinic. Memorials can be made online at www.mayoclinic.org/development or mailed to Department of Development, Mayo Clinic, 200 First St. Rochester, MN 55905.
