Jake Coyer

Jake Coyer, age 91, of Bagley, MN, passed away on Friday (October 10th) peacefully at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (October 18th) at the United Methodist Church in Fosston with the Rev. Michelle Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Lengby City Cemetery, Lengby, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Jake Allen Coyer was born on August 17, 1923 in rural Lengby, Minnesota to parents Amil and Hazel Pulver Coyer.Jake grew up on the family farm south of Fosston. He worked as a logger in his younger years at Timber Lanes and as a mechanic at Art's Repair in Lengby.Jake married Ann Ashing on October 12, 1952. Jake took over the family farm raising beef, dairy and small grains for 30 years. He and Ann purchased the Sunset Home in 1985 when they moved to Bagley. They sold the home in 1999 and enjoyed their retirement. Jake loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and watching Minnesota Twins baseball. He loved his family raising 11 children and enjoying the grandchildren and great grandchildren.Survivors include his wife Ann of 61 years; daughters JoAnn (Ron) Miller of Lengby, Debbie Ronning of Fosston, Pami (Merlin) Olson of Lengby, and Michelle Coyer of Lengby; sons Edwin of Champlin, MN, Robert of Champlin, MN, Gary of Bagley, MN, Jake Jr. (Denise) of Fosston, MN, and Michael (Cami) of Fridley, MN; 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother Henry (Eileen) of Shakopee, MN; and sister Kathleen Violette of Nebraska.He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Jeffrey and Ronnie Coyer; brother Lynn; and sister Audrey Johnston.Honorary Pallbearers: All of Jake's grandchildren and great grandchildrenActive Pallbearers: Levi Coyer, Cody Coyer, Jeffrey Coyer Olson, Marshall Coyer, Dylan Coyer and Aaron Olson.
