Isabelle Raider

Isabelle Raider, age 87, of rural Lengby, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 1st at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with Robert Roy officiating. Interment will be in the Lengby City Cemetery, Lengby, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, May 11th, at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com. Isabelle was born May 22, 1931 to David and Christine Roy in Ponsford, MN. The Roy Family grew to have 7 sisters and 6 brothers.Isabelle graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1949. She went onto nursing school and after graduating, returned to the Lengby area.Isabelle married William (Bud) Raider on July 25, 1952. They made their home in rural Lengby, MN. Together they had 2 sons, Richard and Wesley, both of rural Lengby. Isabelle worked many jobs through the years. Two of the jobs were at the Fosston Hospital and later on The Shooting Star Casino where she retired from in 2007.Isabelle loved to do many things: Knitting, Quilting and Crafts. She created many mittens, hats, scarves, socks, sweat shirts, and face masks (to keep the boys warm). She also loved to make dish towels, rugs, blankets and sock monkeys. In the early years she enjoyed playing cards with her friends and relatives. Isabelle also loved the outdoors. She loved fishing, hunting and snowmobiling with Bud and Friends.She loved to go place with her (2) sisters who lived close to her in the Lengby area. "The Three Musketeers." These three sisters could be found at any number of Bingo Halls and Garage Sales.... Always laughing and having fun!!Isabelle absolutely loved watching The Vikings play. She would watch them live, screaming and hollering and also enjoyed watching old reruns of them playing and having lots to say about how incredibly horrible they were!!Isabelle was a life time member of the Spring Lake VFW Post #2759. Many weekends her and Bud could be found dancing and enjoying a beer or two at the Local Hall. Her favorite flower was the Rose and her favorite color was Blue. She loved the smell of scented candles.Isabelle "Is" is survived by: Both sons: Richard Raider and Wes Raider (Darlene), all of Lengby, MN; three grandchildren: Jason, Tanya and Brenda; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; siblings, Leo, Herb, and Robert Roy, Rose Anderson, and Ada (Roy) Hobbs.Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, (3) brothers and (4) sisters.Rest in Peace to a great Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Auntie, Daughter, Wife and Friend.
