Helen Andrew, age 70, of Lengby, MN, passed away on Monday (October 24th) as result of an automobile accident near Fosston, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (October 28th) at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby with Pastor Scott Morey officiating. Interment will be in Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lengby. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday (October 27th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Helen Ione Fischer was born on July 14, 1941 in Northwood, North Dakota to parents Ervin and Evelyn (Lidenberg) Fischer. Her family moved to Lengby, Minnesota in 1947. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1959. Following high school, Helen entered the nurses training program at Bethesda Hospital in Crookston, Minnesota where she earned her degree as a licensed practical nurse.Helen was united in marriage to Lyle Andrew on December 17, 1960 at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby. After their marriage they lived in Lengby and raised four children, Brian, Leslie, Deborah and Melissa. Lyle passed away on April 11, 1988. Helen had many interests including sewing, crocheting and spending time at Magelssen Elementary School in Fosston as a foster grandparent. She sewed numerous Halloween outfits for her grandchildren. Many wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses and prom dresses were meticulously sewn in her kitchen.Helen passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident near Fosston at the age of 70 years.She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Fischer of Fosston; two sons, Brian (Cindy) of Dilworth, MN, and Leslie (Katja) of Belgrade, MT; two daughters, Deborah (Errol) Miller of Gary, MN and Melissa Andrew of Flom, MN; mother-in-law, Eva Andrew of Fosston; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband; her father; and one son, Warren.Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Helen's grandchildren and great grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Tyler Andrew, Trevor Kenfield, Sam Bixler, Wade Wooley, Andrew Miller, and Darby Miller.
