Gregory Aos, age 57, of Gonvick, MN, passed away on Monday (August 20th) at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday (August 25th) at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Lund Lutheran Cemetery, Gully, MN. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Gregory Alan Aos was born on September 6, 1954 at St. Francis Hospital in Crookston, Minnesota to parents Richard and Janis (Fjerstad) Aos. He was baptized at Lund Lutheran Church in Gully. At the age of five, he moved with his family to Red Lake Falls where he attended grade school and Sunday School at Bethany Lutheran Church.In 1965, Greg moved with his family to East Grand Forks where he was confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and completed school at Central High School. Following high school, Greg worked at a car wash in East Grand Forks, and later at the ODC in Thief River Falls and Fosston. He then moved to Gonvick and worked for Kubiak Foods in Bagley for many years until he was forced to quit due to health reasons.Greg had special needs but never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or phone number. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, watching racing and most sports. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Greg passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at his home in Gonvick at the age of 57 years.He is survived by his parents, Richard and Janis Aos of Gonvick; brother, Ritchie Aos of East Grand Forks, MN; special friend, Edna Stoskopf of Gonvick; one nephew, Michael Aos of Colorado; four nieces, Heather Geres of Sioux Falls, SD, Haley Aos of East Grand Forks, MN, Ashley Aos of East Grand Forks, MN, and Emily Aos of Sioux Falls, SD; three great nephews; one great niece and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Jo Aos in 1988; and his grandparents, Louie and Mary Aos and Lloyd and Sadie Fjerstad.Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Greg's cousinsActive Pallbearers will be Chad Strom, Mark Strom, Ronnie Knudson, Blake Knudson, Tim LaVoi, and Terry LaVoi.
