Gloris Blix, age 77, from Naples, FL passed away on Friday, May 28th at her home in Naples. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 19th at 11:00 AM at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston, MN with Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. A time for family and friends to gather will be held for one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment of cremains will be at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements.Gloris Arlene (Vennes) Blix was born July 5, 1932 in McIntosh, Minnesota, to Carl and Inez (Carver) Vennes, the fourth of five children. She grew up on a farm near McIntosh and attended school in Fosston, Minnesota.Gloris was joined in marriage to Keith L. Blix on May 14, 1949 in Fosston. They raised three children together and lived in several communities in North Dakota and Minnesota as Keith's career with Otter Tail Power Company advanced. Gloris and Keith retired to Naples, Florida in 1984 where they remained until their deaths.Gloris was energetic, generous, and friendly. She contributed regularly to her church and other charities, and maintained a loving commitment to her children and grandchildren. She helped Keith build a house and remodel two others, and she held various jobs that allowed her to work with people. She was recognized as the top Tupperware sales person in southern Minnesota for several years. During the past twenty-six years, the Enchanting Shores neighborhood in Naples was home to Gloris and Keith. Gloris was active in community activities there, and she enjoyed a close network of friends. She was small in stature, but she had a large presence with the people in her life. She will be missed.On Friday, May 28, 2010, Gloris passed away at her home in Naples, Florida at the age of 77 years.She is survived by her three children, Peggy (Wayne) Thompson of Coon Rapids, MN, James (Sara) Blix of Thief River Falls, MN, and Gerald Blix of Thief River Falls, MN; six grandchildren, Dawn (Jason) Gulbranson, Stephanie (Bill) Helser, Keith (Jennifer) Blix, Eric Blix, Michael Blix, and Ryan Blix; and six great grandchildren.Gloris was preceded in death by her husband Keith; her parents; three brothers, Joel Vennes, Gordon Vennes, and Kennard Vennes; and her sister Idella Eck.Gloris was a devout Christian, and her family and friends find consolation and joy in the knowledge that she has joined with Keith in the embrace of our Savior.
