Glen Robert Clark, age 83, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Monday (April 5th) at Midway Care Center in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday (April 14th) at the United Methodist Church in Fosston with the Rev. Sarah Lawton officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Fosston. Family greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Robert Clark was born on February 10, 1927 to Glen and Ellen (Smith) Clark at Ardock, North Dakota. At the age of three, he moved with his family to Mahnomen County, Minnesota. In 1942 they moved to the Lengby, Minnesota area.Robert graduated from Fosston High School in 1946. He then took a course in plumbing at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Robert was united in marriage to Florence Brenhaug Johnson.Robert worked in the construction trade until retiring in 1989. Robert was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 126, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. After his retirement, Robert and Florence spent winters in Brownsville, Texas. Florence passed away in 1995.Robert was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fosston, a member of the Mason Lodge 141 of Crookston, Minnesota, East Polk Heritage Center of Fosston, the Embassy Community Center of Fosston, the Fosston Garden Club, the East Polk County/Fosston TRIAD, and the Itasca Farmer's Association. He and Florence also were tour guides for the Embassy bus tours for many years.He is survived by three children, Kathleen (Gary) Schaefer of Greenbrae, California, Gordon Clark of Rockport, WA, and Karen (Gary) Gilbertson of River Falls, WI; Also surviving is a grandson, Scott Gilbertson of River Falls, WI, and granddaughter, Saprina Matheny of Duluth, MN.Also surviving are three step-children, Richard (Lois) Johnson of Roseau, MN, Bruce Johnson of Alexandria, MN, and LuAnn (Perry) Manecke of Fosston; one sister, Lois Dokken of Fosston; one aunt, Ruth Smith of Waubun, MN. His friend, Chris Mowitt and several cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; his parents; and brother-in-law, Norman Dokken.Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Mowitt, Glen Brown, John Benson, Bob Ball, Jim Guy, and Bob Lofstrand.
