Gertrude Enerson, age 90, from Fosston, MN passed away on Wednesday, March 11th at McIntosh Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh, MN. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 11:00 AM at Kingo Lutheran Church with Rev. John Dalen officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Kingo Lutheran Church, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral at the church. All services are at the church. Interment will be at Kingo Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements.Gertrude Violet Olson was born October 5, 1918 in Mahnomen, Minnesota to Gilbert and Lena (Lien) Olson.Gertie married Olaf Enerson on October 17, 1937 at Lengby, Minnesota. They were married for 53 years, residing in Fosston, Minnesota during that time. Olaf passed away in 1991.Gertie was a lifelong member of Kingo Lutheran Church where she had served as chairperson of the quilting group.She enjoyed cooking and baking and was noted for her bread and lefse making. She liked spending time outdoors and loved to go fishing.On Wednesday, March 11, 2009 Gertrude Enerson passed away at McIntosh Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh, Minnesota, where she had resided since 1997, at the age of 90 years.She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Rodney) Thompson of Walker, MN; daughter-in-law, Yvonne "Tulla" Enerson of Little Falls, MN; her grandchildren, Greg (Margie) Enerson, Brent (Julie) Thompson, Kim (Robert) Smith and Michael Thompson; and great grandchildren, Elise and Erica Enerson, Samantha and Lindsay Thompson, and Devon, Isaiah and Gabriel Smith. Also surviving is her twin sister, Gladys Solomonson of Lake Mills, IA; sisters-in-law, Gladyce Josephson of Fosston and Marian Enerson of Menahga, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Olaf; her son, Robert Enerson; and brothers, Sunry, Art and Gordon Olson.Blessed be her memory.
