Gary Greendahl, age 63, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Wednesday (June 25th) at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday (June 30th) at Rodnes Lutheran Church, rural Erskine with the Rev. Peter Satren officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. He was born August 28, 1944 to parents, Arthur and Gladys Greendahl and grew up in Mentor, Minnesota. He married his high school sweetheart, Darlene Morberg, on August 4, 1962. Together they were blessed with five children. Mark Anthony, Brian Arthur, Robert Marshall, Paul David, and Cori Ann Cristy. Gary drove bus for Regional Transit in Sacramento, California for 18 years. After a medical retirement, he took the position of caretaker for a Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball complex in Carson City, Nevada for 5 years. Upon returning to Minnesota, he worked for the City of Erskine, L.S.S. delivering Senior Meals and was currently driving for R&L Ride Service. Gary could not seem to retire. He enjoyed life and loved his family deeply. He especially enjoyed being Grampa to eleven grandchildren and Great Grampa to his little buddy Kaleb. He loved football and basketball, music, history and the daily crosswords. He loved Rodnes Lutheran Church and all his friends and especially how Pastor Peter made the Gospel come alive for him. We will miss his tender heart, his sense of humor and all of his little idiosyncrasies which made him so special. We will miss his love but will cherish the memories.God loved him and we do too- until we meet again.
