Floyd Woolliscroft, age 88, of Fosston, MN, formerly of Bagley, MN, passed away on Friday, March 7th, at Essentia Hospital in Fosston. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. Interment will be in the Bagley City Cemetery at a later date. Military honors will be provided by the Air Force Honors Team. Floyd Verlin Woolliscroft was born on February 3, 1937, in Bagley, Minnesota to parents John and Mabel (Dudley) Woolliscroft. He grew up near Bagley and graduated from Bagley High School in 1955. At the age of 19, he entered the United States Air Force. He was stationed at air bases in Lincoln, Nebraska; Bangor, Maine; Dover, Delaware, and his last stint was at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. Floyd was a Flight Engineer on the C-131 Cargo, C-141 Cargo and the C-5 Cargo. While stationed at Grand Forks, he was Maintenance Supervisor for the B-52 Bomber. He retired in 1982 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
Floyd gave his life to Christ while living on the east coast and his faith was a very important part of his life from that time on. He and his young family supported their church home through music, youth activities, and worship over many years.
After his retirement from the military, Floyd returned to his roots in Bagley. He raised hogs and worked at the wild rice plant in Clearbrook. He was married to Evelyn (Juve) in 2001 at Bethel Assembly Church in Fosston. They lived at the farm in Bagley for several years before moving to Fosston. Evelyn passed away on January 15, 2023. Floyd continued to live at home before moving to the Poplar Meadows in McIntosh for two years and, for the past several months, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile.
Floyd was a hard worker and a “go-getter” He never shied away from a tough job and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed reading and writing poetry; hunting, fishing, bowling, Mountain Dew, ice cream and animals.
Floyd went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 7, 2025, with his family by his side, at Essentia Hospital in Fosston at the age of 88 years.
Survivors include four children, Chris of Lincoln, NE, Randy (Diana) of Peoria, AZ, Holly (Rob) of McIntosh, MN, and Wendolyn (Todd) of Lincoln, NE; stepchildren, Pam (Ellen) Juve, Patty (Kris) Munter, Phil (Laurie) Juve, James (Nikki) Juve, and Kim (Brock) Sombke; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Adeline Woolliscroft of Bagley, MN. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; brothers, Josh, George and Sam; sister, Evelyn; sister-in-law, Delores Woolliscroft; and nephew, Larry Pitzer.
