Florence Klinger, age 92, Mentor and McIntosh, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 16th, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile, MN. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20th, at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor with the Rev. Michael Sletto officiating. Interment will be in Maple Bay Free Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.Florence Irene Dulmage Klinger was born on September 14, 1925 in Leeds, North Dakota to parents William and Edna Alexander Dulmage. She lived in Leeds before moving with her family to Poplar Lake near Fosston. She attended country school in that area and graduated from Fosston High School. After high school, Florence was a nanny for a family in Red Lodge, Montana. She worked on their ranch and traveled with their family until the children were older. She returned to Minnesota and met the love of her life, David Klinger. They were married on July 12, 1958 at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. In 1959, they moved to Seattle, Washington. They began their family and lived there until the early 70's when they returned to live in Fertile. They also lived in McIntosh for many years before moving to their daughter's home near Mentor. In August of 2017, together they moved into the Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile. Florence worked for many years for the Sather brothers in Fosston at their clinic. She also worked at the Fosston Hospital, Johnson Rest Home in Erskine, Midway Care Center in Fosston, and for nearly 20 years at McIntosh Manor. Florence was truly dedicated to caring for others. She loved flowers and gardening and was known for her beautiful flower beds. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David, of Fertile; two daughters, Robin (Jeff) Benson of Mentor, and Shirley (Roy) Lawson of Warren, MN; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Josh (Katie) Benson and their children, Caden and Brenna; Justin (Kristi) Benson and their children, Grant, Kora, and Brynlee; Jeremy (Ashley) Benson and their children, Riley and Skylar; Megan Evenson and her daughter, Florrie; and Isabelle Lawson. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings, John, Jim, Edna, Jeanette, and Billy.
