Everett Dale Osland was born December 26th, 1957 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to parents Eddie Osland and Tillie (Alexander) Osland, the oldest of their six children. He graduated Erskine high school in 1976. In 1977 he married Rae Ann Edwards of McIntosh. To this marriage they raised 4 daughters.
From a young age Everett loved to stay busy. He raised many animals, liked to fix things and build machinery attachments for his equipment. In the early eighties Everett and Eddie started their own concrete business which they did for several years until Eddies health no longer allowed him to work. After that, Everett went on to road construction where he worked for several road crews as a supervisor. Companies included Strom Construction from Moorhead, Thorsen Construction from Bemidji and Davidsons Construction from Holt. While working road construction he also raised cattle and farmed. He would often come from the construction site to the field as he had several cattle. In 2014 he started Osland Concrete Construction. Everett truly enjoyed working concrete and there was no project too big or small that he wouldn’t take on. Even through Everett’s diagnosis in the spring of 2021 he continued to go out to the job sites and work with his crew when able.
The last 4 years Everett and Rae Ann became snowbirds by spending their winters in Lake Havasu City in Arizona. They have made many new friends with whom they have enjoyed played cards with, going on pontoon rides, and going to dances.
Anyone who knew Everett will remember him as a hard worker, easy going and an all-around great guy. Our family will remember him as a selfless provider, a fighter, a hero and a guy that could always make a joke and laugh harder at it than anyone else.
Everett is a true example of strength and determination. Even through the most difficult days you could still find him working with his concrete crew or on the farm fixing something. He never complained about what life had handed him and never let that get in the way of continuing to live his life. He lived by the motto work hard, play hard.
