Evelyn Fischer, age 96 of Fosston and formerly from Lengby, MN passed away on Friday, October 7th at Essentia Health First Care Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12th at 11:00 A.M. at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby with Rev. John Ragan officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston, and also for one hour before the funeral at the church on Wednesday morning. Interment will be at Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lengby. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent to carlinhoialmen.com. Evelyn Bertina Lidenberg was born October 20, 1919 to parents Theodore and Ida (Buraas) Lidenberg in Northwood, ND, where she grew up and attended school. Evelyn was married to Ervin Fischer on October 13, 1940 in Northwood. They moved to Lengby, Minnesota in 1941 and lived there for many years. Evelyn was a very active member of the Lengby community where she and Ervin always showed their support for family and friends. Evelyn enjoyed her work as a cook at the Fosston Elementary School for 10 years and as a cook at the Fosston Hospital. She also cooked at the Boys Scout Camp near Naytahwaush, Minnesota. She always made sure everyone had lunch and ice cream and she made the best buns in the country. Evelyn loved gardening and planted enough for everybody and she enjoyed dancing at the Senior Center in Bagley, Minnesota and they called themselves the 7 UP Bunch. In 2005, Evelyn moved to Cornerstone Residence in Fosston, Minnesota. Last year she moved to Essentia Health First Care Living Center in Fosston, where she passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the age of 96 years, 11 months and 17 days. She is survived by her daughter Betty Raider of Overhand Park, KS, five grandchildren, Brian (Cindy) Andrew, Leslie (Katja) Andrew, Deborah (Errol) Miller, Sheree (Wade) Wooley, and Melissa (Brandon Buschette) Andrew, seven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Florence Kleven, Spokane, WA, Arlene Johnson, Boise, ID, and many nephews and nieces, and great nephews and great nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin, parents Theodore and Ida, daughter Helen, and siblings, Gilman, Alvin, Marion, Orville, Ernest, and Melvin. Blessed be her memory
