Eva Andrew

Eva Andrew, age 96, of the Fosston/Lengby, MN area, passed away on Tuesday (July 23rd) at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday (July 29th) at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lengby. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday (July 28th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Eva Mae Pedigo was born on February 15, 1917 in Waterville, Kansas to parents William and Effie (McCallister) Pedigo. She moved to Turner County, South Dakota when she was a little girl. She attended school and graduated high school at Hurley, South Dakota.Eva was united in marriage to Rex Andrew on April 11, 1936. At the time they were married, gas was 19 cents a gallon, a loaf of bread was eight cents, and a new Ford was $495. Rex and Eva farmed in Turner County until November of 1949 when they moved to Minnesota. They then farmed in the Lengby-Fosston area until they moved to Fosston in 1986. Eva worked candling eggs for Boots Balstad, cooked at Boy Scout camp, and was a seamstress for Finger Hut for seven years to supplement the farm income.Eva enjoyed gardening, flowers and crocheting.Eva passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota at the age of 96 years, five months and eight days.She is survived by four children, Ruth Adams of Newburg, MO, LaVerne (Fusako) of Ashley, ND, Larry (Sharon) of Halstad, KS, and Lowell (Gwynneth) of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; son, Lyle; brother, LaVerne Pedigo; sister, Audrey Pedigo; daughter-in-law, Helen Andrew; and son-in-law, Robert Adams.Pallbearers: Kyle Andrew, Doug Youngquist, Tyler Andrew, Trevor Kenfield, Tony Maruska, and Gary Croker.
