Eunice Hartel, age 87, of Fosston, MN and formerly of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Wednesday (September 23rd) at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday (September 28th) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, McIntosh. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday (September 27th) at the McIntosh Community Center in McIntosh. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Eunice Elaine Beiswenger was born on November 8, 1921 in Lowell Township, rural Fisher, Minnesota to parents Henry and Laura (Ross) Beiswenger. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church near Fisher. She attended rural school in Lowell Township and Crookston Central High School, graduating in 1939. Following high school, she attended Normal Teacher's Training college in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Upon her graduation, she taught rural school in Brandsvold Township near Fosston and at the Rittmeyer School northwest of Crookston.Eunice was united in marriage to Pearley Omar Hartel on January 3, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church. In the spring of 1943, they moved to the Victor Hanson farm and Eunice taught at the Sunnyvale School northeast of McIntosh. In April of 1945, they purchased a farm in Brandsvold Township. It was here that they farmed and raised their family. Pearley died in 1979. She continued to live in the McIntosh area until moving to the Cornerstone Assisted Living Apartments in Fosston. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh. Eunice's greatest enjoyment came when she could care for her family. She will be dearly missed.Eunice is survived by her four children, Gary (Dorthy) Hartel of McIntosh, Ron (Marilyn) Hartel of Fargo, ND, Linda (Bruce) Nelson of McIntosh, and LeeAnn (Kevin) Nascene of Lindstrom, MN; nine grandchildren, Lana (Dean) Hansen and their children, Lauren and Dylan of Sartell, MN; Wade Hartel of Minneapolis, MN; Mike (Trenny) Hartel and their children, Miryley and Cole of Fargo, ND; Dan (Michelle) Hartel and their children, Tyler, Connor and Kylie of Maple Grove, MN; Jennifer (Jeremy) Johnson and their children, Chelsey, Brayden and Josie of Thief River Falls, MN; Kimberly (Chris) Davison of Minnetonka, MN; David (Shannon) Nascene and their children, Laurel and Sophie of Edina, MN; Paul Nascene of Minot, ND; and Rachel (Luke) Ellis of Stillwater, MN.Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Ruth Beiswenger of Crookston, MN and Evonne Hartel of McIntosh; and several nieces and nephews.
