Ervin Hanson

Ervin Hanson, age 88, from Erskine, MN passed away on Monday, December 28th at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2nd at 11:00 AM at Rodnes Lutheran Church, rural Erskine with Rev. Peter Satren officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the church on Saturday morning. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent to carlinhoialmen.com.Ervin Ralph Hanson was born on December 20, 1927 to parents Ole and Julia (Skiple) Hanson in Badger Township, rural Erskine, MN. He attended Cisco Country School in Badger Township.Ervin was united in marriage to Bernice Brekke on August 20, 1949. They had eight children together. Ervin was a Holstein dairy and grain farmer all of his life in Woodside Township, rural Erskine, and an active member of Rodnes Lutheran Church.Bernice passed away on April 2, 2011 after which Ervin went to live at the Country Place Assisted Living in Erskine.On December 8, 2015 he entered Pioneer Memorial Care Center and passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND on December 28, 2015 at the age of 88 years.He is survived by five children, Mary (Lloyd) Gran of Erskine, Steve (Mary) Hanson of Pasco, WA, Jane (Rick) Wasiluk of Woodbury. MN, Nathan of Minneapolis, MN, and James (Teresa) Hanson of Bemidji, MN; grandchildren, Sarah Gran Williams (John), Gretchen Hanson Gotthard (Dan), Marcus (Katie) Hanson, Heather Hanson Henry (Kurtis), Stephanie Hanson, and Brooke and Mark Schlotterback; great grandchildren, Sophia, Nicholas and Olivia Gotthard, Kaitlyn and Maive Hanson, Roxie Bates, Kingston Henry, and Marisa Beccera; sister, Lorraine Brekke; sisters-in-law, Eleanore Hovland and Mildred Hansen; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; three children, Tim, Carol and David; his parents, Ole and Julia Hanson; and a brother, Harold.
