Erin Olson

Erin Olson, age 41, from Gully, MN passed away on Monday, November 22nd at Essentia Health in Fosston, MN after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 1:00 PM at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 to 7:30 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Hope Lutheran Church. All services will be at the church. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fosston, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Sympathy messages may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Erin Colleen Osmonson was born on August 24, 1969 to parents Bennett and Gloria (Johnson) Osmonson in Fosston, MN. She was Baptized and Confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Fosston. Her love Of Jesus was made real by Grandma Myrtle, who's influence helped her put faith into action. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1987 and Concordia College in 1991. She was united in marriage to Brian Arlen Olson in Fosston on July 27, 1991. To this union 3 children were born, Cody, Alexi and Nicole. They resided in Salol, MN from 1991 to 1993 where Erin was employed at Northern Wood Products. In 1993 they moved to a farm in rural Gully, MN and currently reside there. She was employed by the RLCC school district and currently was teaching Interactive TV to Fertile, Grygla, Red Lake Falls and Win-E-Mac school districts. She had worked at Quickstop in Fosston as well. Erin was involved in many activities including 4-H and Project 120 for state representative Edgar Olson. Music was a passion and she participated in several local theater productions, local community choirs, at sports events and any time she was asked to sing. Other interests were: reading, crocheting, counted cross stitch, stamping and gardening until she became physically unable to do it.  Erin passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010 after a long and courageous journey dealing with Malignant Hemangiopericytoma at Essentia Hospital in Fosston at the age of 41 years. Survivors are husband Brian of Gully, MN, children: Cody, Alexi and Nicole, Gully. Parents Bennett and Gloria Osmonson, Gully. Mother-in-law Ardell Olson (Joe Bauer), Red Lake Falls, MN. Grandmother Myrtle Osmonson, McIntosh, MN. Brothers Greg (Julie) Osmonson, Bloomington, MN and Cory (Jodie) Osmonson, Gully. Nieces and nephews: Caden, Emme, Karlie, Hunter, Jayson and Tristen Osmonson. Sisters-in law: Charlene Olson, Warroad, MN, Cheryl (Dean) Lorzal, Red Lake Falls and Jennifer Olson, Crookston, MN. Brothers-in-law: Darin (Tammy) Olson, Warroad, Michael Olson, Red Lake Falls, Jamie Bender, Warroad, Waylen Olson, Warroad, Kyle (Jessica) Olson, Fosston and Brandon Olson, Red Lake Falls. Olson nieces and nephews: Chassidy Strom, Keaton Hoffman, Dustin Olson, Katelyn, McKayla and Kaylee Olson, James Lorzal, Abby and Gabriel Proulx, Molly Olson, Devon, Stella, Benjamin and Angel Olson and Logan Bender. She was preceded in death by: Father-in-law Arlen Olson.
