Erica (Weiby) Olson, age 54, of Moorhead, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 27th, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31st, at Rodnes Lutheran Church, rural Erskine, with the Rev. Joel Smeby officiating. Interment will be in Rodnes Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Erica Lynn (Weiby) Olson was born on August 2, 1968, in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Clifton and Rosalie (Rogers) Weiby. She was baptized and confirmed at Rodnes Lutheran Church. She grew up in Woodside Township, not far from the church, and graduated from Erskine High School in 1986. After high school, she attended Concordia College in Moorhead a vocational technical college.
Erica worked for AmeriPride for several years and then as a Client Care Specialist at alcohol and drug recovery centers. She was currently working/serving at Anchorage Recover Center in Moorhead. Erica truly cared about the people that she served.
She was an active member at Recovery Church in Moorhead and a life-long member of Rodnes Lutheran Church where her family has a deep history and heritage.
Erica was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and had been Treasurer of the Fargo-Moorhead Area AA Chapter.
Erica had a giving heart and dedicated her life to serving others in need. She dearly loved her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her smile and her generous heart.
Survivors include her siblings, Joyce Raaen of Minneapolis, MN, Gemma (Kevin) Winger of West Dundee, IL, Derek (Rocksann) Weiby of Fosston, MN, Tiffany Brua Weiby of Carpentersville, IL, Sarah Scanlan of Carpentersville, IL, and Elizabeth (Stacey) Snobeck of Erskine; nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews, Sheelah, Charles, Kenneth, Katherine, Amy (Eric), Erin, Sarah, Christopher, Sarah, Leo, Joshua, Josephine, Joshua, Tori, Scott, Bryk, and Zach. Also surviving is her beloved cat, Lenny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Rosalie; and her dear friend, Todd.
