Ellen Munter, age 98, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Thursday (June 23rd) at First Care Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (June 28th) at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Asphult Cemetery, rural Fosston. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Ellen Caroline Bergerson was born on July 24, 1912, on the family farm in Johnson Township, rural Trail, Minnesota to parents Ole and Amanda (Skyberg) Bergerson. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church, Wanke, Minnesota. On December 29, 1948, she was married to Melvin Munter in Lengby, Minnesota. They farmed together and raised two sons, Mervin and Gary, in Hill River Township, rural Fosston, Minnesota.She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of rural Fosston. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.Ellen passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at First Care Living Center in Fosston at the age of 98 years, 10 months and 30 days.Ellen is survived by her son, Gary and wife, Sylvia of Fosston; daughter-in-law, Rosann Munter of Newfolden, MN; sister-in-law, Ruth Roed of Fosston; 12 grandchildren, Lynn (Wes) Flateland of Gully, MN, Kevin (Kiko) Munter of Puposky, MN, Melissa (Shane) Kvalevog of Moorhead, MN, Terry (Nicole) Munter of Bemidji, MN, Aaron (Brittany) Munter of Thief River Falls, MN, Josh Werb of Newfolden, MN, Mary Benitz of St. Paul, MN, Stephanie Werb of St. Paul, MN, Roxann (Roger) Coan of Goodridge, MN, Shayne (Chrissy) Munter of Fosston, Karianne (Eric) Sirjord of Gary, MN, and Blake Munter of Fosston.Also surviving are 27 great grandchildren, Dustin (Melisa) Olson, Amanda (Mark) Gunning, Christopher Munter, Daniel Johnson, Tasha, Tyler and Tanner Flateland, Keva and Kahealani Munter, Jormalu Kisino and Ramta Bungitak, Austin, Karson and Riley Kvalevog, Cameron and Cooper Munter, Hailee Dubois, Claire Munter, Vivian and Jordon Coan, Wyatt, Axel, Owen and Carlie Munter, and Kelsie, Aiden and Jace Sirjord; and several nephews and nieces. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband; son, Mervin; grandson, Jayme Munter; parents; brothers, Clarence and Palmer Bergerson; and sisters, Annie Christianson, Minnie Bergerson, Lilly Bergerson, Olga Langseth and Josie Bjerlkie.Pallbearers: Kevin Munter, Terry Munter, Aaron Munter, Shayne Munter, Blake Munter and Wes Flateland.
