Elida Moran

Elida Moran, age 87, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Tuesday (November 30th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday (December 6th) at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Gosen Cemetery, rural Erskine. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Elida Marie Jorgenson Moran was born on May 12, 1923 at rural Erskine, Minnesota to parents Arshal and Hilma (Carlson) Jorgenson. She grew up and attended rural school south of Erskine. She then attended Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota on scholarship for one year before transferring to Bemidji State Teacher's College. Following college, she taught school in Fosston, Finlayson, Minnesota, Foot Lake country school near Erskine and in Corcoran, California. Elida was united in marriage to Kenneth Moran on August 21, 1949 at a garden ceremony at Elida's home south of Erskine. After their marriage, they lived in Corcoran until 1951 when the moved back to Erskine where they spent the rest of their years. Kenny passed away on July 20, 2003. Elida was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aide, the Sunday school board, and as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved animals, flowers and being a teacher. Her favorite times were spent with her daughter and her grandchildren. Elida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine under the faithful care of her daughter, Lynn, at the age of 87 years, six months and 18 days.She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Fran) Moran-Bohn of Erskine; three grandchildren, John (Jessica) Nelson of Erskine, Tara (Corey) Brandt of Fargo, ND, and Joseph (Corina) Larson of Iowa City, IA; three great grandchildren, Alexis, Mark, and Kendyl. Nieces nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; step father, Arvid Johnson; brother, Donald Jorgenson; and sister, Elda Jorgenson.Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Elida's family and friendsActive Pallbearers will be Alan Erickson, Doug Planten, Milo Oppegaard, Bruce McWilliam, Sharol Johnson, and Mike Moran.
