Eleanora Hendrickson, age 78, of Trail, MN passed away on Wednesday (December 14th) at Essentia Hospital in Fosston, MN. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (December 19th) at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with the Rev. Margaret Jacobus and Rev. Gordon Syverson officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Oklee. Visitation will be held from5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday (December 18th) and for one hour prior to the service on Monday, all at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and an online guestbook is available at carlinhoialmen.com.Eleanora Gladys Syverson was born on April 18, 1933 in Hill River Township, rural Trail, Minnesota to parents Ted and Linda (Christianson) Syverson. She was baptized and confirmed at Vernes Lutheran Church. She attended school at the Lindsay School in Hill River Township and graduated from McIntosh High School. She attended Bemidji State University, graduating in 1953, and later earned her Master's Degree in education. Eleanora began her teaching career in Oklee in the fall of 1953, retiring in 1996.Eleanora was united in marriage to Morris Hendrickson on July 14, 1956 at Vernes Lutheran Church of rural McIntosh. In 1960, besides teaching, she tutored a 4 1/2 year old handicapped girl for two years.She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee where she served on many committees and sang with the Zionettes. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, gardening, taking care of her lawn, and fancy work. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and took great joy in teaching.Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Morris of Trail; two daughters, Cindy (Wayne) Schmiedeberg of McIntosh, MN, and Nancy (Brad) Gunderson of Trail; and son, Richard (fiance, Jami Eischens) of McIntosh; four granddaughters, Ashley (David) Halverson of Brooks, MN, Megan (Andy) Lukkes of Moorhead, MN, Emma and Natalee Eischens of Oklee, MN; and two great grandchildren, Gunnar and Aubrey Halverson.Also surviving are five sisters, Ruby Heideman of McIntosh, Ardell (Lloyd) Opdahl of Oklee, Bernice (Jerome) Voxland of McIntosh, Gloria (Mark) Morque of Lebanon, MO, and Viola (Richard) Georgeson of Hillsboro, ND; three brothers, Arnold (Conne)Syverson of Trail, Entrip (Sharon) Syverson of Lakeville, MN, and Karsten (Corky) Syverson of McIntosh; one brother-in-law, Rueben Brekke of McIntosh; and one sister-in-law, Delores Syverson of Fosston. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael; one brother, Floyd Syverson; two sisters, Verna Syverson and Lorraine Brekke; infant twin brother and sister Morris and Doris; brothers-in-law, Curtis Heideman, Kenneth Hendrickson, Helmer Hendrickson, and Elmer and Mable Enerson; and mother and father-in-law, Haaken and Christina Hendrickson.Honorary Pallbearers: All of Eleanora's family.Active Pallbearers: David Halverson, Andy Lukkes, Wesley Brekke, Clyde Opdahl, Michael Voxland, and Larry Sollie.
