Eleanor Paulson, age 86, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 15th, at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4th, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Free Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, May 4th, at the church. Eleanor Rose (Rinkenberger) Paulson was born November 8, 1932 at Hazel, MN to Bill and Rose (Wenger) Rinkenberger. The Rinkenberger family moved to a farm north of Fosston in 1941. Eleanor and several siblings attended Cloverdale School. Eleanor was married to Curtis Paulson on October 23, 1955 at Kingo Lutheran Church. They lived in Moorhead, MN until 1961 and moved back to Fosston.Eleanor was talented as a seamstress and sewed clothes for herself and her three daughters and their dolls. She also had a garden for several years. Eleanor babysat for other working mothers for six years and then worked as a clerk at Nord's Drug Store for 26 years from 1969-1995. In her retirement years she knit and crocheted many baby afghans for relatives and also made caps and mittens which were sent away to different missions. "Ellie" was a quiet, hard working lady. A song she chose for her service repeats this testimony: "My faith has found a resting place-not in device or creed: I trust the Ever-living One, His wounds for me shall plead. I need no other argument, I need no other pleas; It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me." (--Eliza E. Hewitt). Eleanor passed away on Tuesday, January 15th at First Care Living Center in Fosston, MN where she had resided for about four months.She is survived by three daughters-Rosalie (Glen) Larson of Fosston, MN; Pam (Tom) Nielsen of Grand Forks, ND; Diane Illies (Ron Beckstrom) of rural Solway, MN; Four grandchildren-Aanders Nielsen of Fargo, ND; Dane Nielsen of Grand Forks, ND; Heather (Chris) Cronemiller of Isanti, MN and Nathan (Hannah) Illies of Columbus, GA; Three great-grandchildren, Ciara, Reshard and Gabriele Cronemiller.Brothers-- Roger (Jan) Rinkenberger of Fosston and Darrel (Norma) Rinkenberger of Fosston. Sisters-Pearl Birkeland of Fosston, Lorraine Jensen of Alexandria, MN, Doris Hove of Fosston, and sister-in-law Thelma Rinkenberger of Fosston, as well as many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Curtis, in March of 2018; brothers Archie Rinkenberger and Jack Rinkenberger (who passed away 11 days after Eleanor); sister, Mae Anderson; brothers-in-law Andie Anderson, Kenneth Birkeland, Raymond Hove and Richard Jensen; and sister-in-law Doris Rinkenberger.Memorials may be sent to Samaritan's Purse Children's Heart Project.
