Elda Lee Hanson, age 76, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Saturday, October 4th, at the First Care Living Center in Fosston. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 10th at Rodnes Lutheran Church, rural Erskine, MN with the Rev. Peter Satren officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Elda Lee Weiby was born on December 23, 1937 at their home farm in Woodside Township, Minnesota to parents Oscar and Arlene (Spray) Weiby. She attended Maple Grove country school in Woodside for several years before attending Erskine High School where she graduated in 1955. Elda married Reuben E. Hanson of Mentor on April 11, 1959. They lived most of their 51 years of marriage in Fosston. Elda spent most of her working years at Hartz Foods, Koehler Floral and H&R Block, all of Fosston. Reuben passed away in 2010. Elda was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a lifelong member at Rodnes Lutheran Church where she was very active until her health prevented her from doing so. She enjoyed gardening, family gatherings, and playing games with family and friends.Elda passed away peacefully on October 4, 2014 at the First Care Living Center in Fosston at the age of 76 years, nine months and eleven days.Survivors include her three children, Kevin (Mary) Hanson of Fosston, MN, Glenda (Todd) Pottsmith of Stacy, MN, and Debra (Terry) Sonju of Red Lake Falls, MN; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Ostgard of Fosston, MN, Karen Zeagerof Avon Lake, OH, Dorothy (Wayne) Smith of Lengby, MN; brother-in-law Orlin Thompson of McIntosh, MN; sisters-in-law Rosalie Weiby of Erskine, MN and Byrde Ireland of Griswold, IA.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one infant daughter; one sister; two brothers; one niece and two nephews.
