Eileen Sandell

Eileen Sandell, age 99, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 29th, at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 10th, at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby, MN with the Rev. John Ragan officiating. Interment will be in Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lengby at a later time. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com.Eileen Lofstrand Sandell was born October 28, 1918 on the home farm near Lengby, Minnesota to parents Henning and Lillian (Otness) Lofstrand. She attended rural school near her home for eight years. She worked in the Fosston area as a hired girl, going to Minneapolis in 1940 where she worked at Sears Roebuck Company for many years.In 1955 she married Arnold Sandell in Minneapolis. They had one daughter, Pamela (Anthony) Pearsell of Alaska.In 1986, the retired and moved back to Fosston. Arnold passed away in 2003. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church when they lived in St. Paul and has been a member of Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby where she was also baptized and confirmed. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ken and Learton; and sister, Carol Floren. She is survived by her brother, Bobby (Vonny) Lofstrand of Fosston and many nieces and nephews.
