Eileen Erlandson

Eileen Erlandson, age 66, of Gully, MN, passed away on Sunday (February 27th) at the Neilson Place in Bemidji, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (March 4th) at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father John Kleinwachter presiding. Interment will be in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, rural Gully. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday (March 3rd) and for one hour prior to the service on Friday, all at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Eileen Florence Bayerl was born on December 3, 1944 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Minneapolis to parents Edward and Mildred (Littfin) Bayerl. She grew up with her parents on a farm north of Winsted, Minnesota. She was confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Winsted in 1962.After her graduation, Eileen worked at a canning factory in Winsted. She later went to work at JC Penney in Minneapolis and lived with her aunt Lucille Klobe in Hopkins.Eileen was united in marriage to Robert Erlandson on November 19, 1966 at Eileen's home parish in Winsted. After their marriage, they lived in Fridley, Minnesota until 1971 when they moved to their farm in Johnson Township north of Gully. Eileen worked at Tri-Valley for many years and served as manager of the Oklee Senior Site from 1991 until failing health forced her to retire in 1997. Eileen was diagnosed with renal failure requiring her to start kidney dialysis on October 29, 1997. She continued her dialysis treatments traveling to Bemidji three times a week for 13 years.Eileen was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Gully American Legion Auxiliary Unit #603 and the Catholic Aid Association. She enjoyed her cats and always had a large garden. Most of all, she enjoyed when the grandchildren came to visit her on the farm. Eileen passed away early Sunday morning, February 27, 2011 at the Neilson Place in Bemidji at the age of 66 years, two months and 24 days.She is survived by her husband, Robert of Gully; three children, Thomas Erlandson of Gully, John (Lisa) Erlandson of Oklee, MN, and Mary Beth (Gerald) Gonsorowski of Thief River Falls, MN; four grandchildren, Ethan Klasen, Austin Erlandson, and Geran and Jazlyn Gonsorowski; her aunt, Lucille Klobe of St. Paul, MN; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Wolf of McAllen, TX. Other relatives also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Betsey Erlandson; and one granddaughter, Brianna Erlandson.Blessed be her memory
