Eddie Osland

Eddie E. Osland, age 76, from Erskine, MN passed away on Thursday, February 23rd at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 1st at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will be held for one hour before the memorial service at the church on Thursday. Interment of cremains will be at Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine at a later date, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Eddie Elmer Osland was born on June 26, 1935 in Richardton, ND to Eddie C. and Lois M. (McGraw) Osland. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended school in Buxton, ND and also at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton. On May 25, 1957 he married Tillie Alexander in Grand Forks and they resided in Buxton, ND. They moved to Billings, MT for a short time and then moved to Erskine, MN. Eddie worked numerous jobs including: working for his father in the gravel business at a young age and also owning his own gravel truck and dray business, working at Bradley Motors, driving truck for Northern Tank Lines and later Dixon Brothers, working at the Erskine school as a bus driver and janitor, and working at ODC in Crookston.Some of Eddie's hobbies included woodworking, restoring John Deere tractors, and driving his tractors around his farm. Eddie always enjoyed sharing stories with others and putting his family first.On Thursday, February 23, 2012 Eddie passed away at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 76 years with his family by his side.Eddie is survived by his children: Everett (Rae Ann) Osland, Erskine, Lori (Rob) Hole, Erskine, Robert Osland, San Jose, CA, David (Sue) Osland, Crookston, Gary (Laura) Osland, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Brian Osland, Erskine. Grandchildren: Amanda (Shane) Vettleson, Melissa (Aaron) Chaput, Jessica (Brian) Stark, Cassandra (Mike) Heide, Nicole (Jason) Carlson, Kristen (Jeremy) Hole-Morgenroth, Amanda (Seth) Volker, Quentin Schaible, Alissa Osland, Cody Osland, Echo Osland, Hailey Osland, Olivia Osland, and Dustin Osland. Eleven great-grandchildren also survive. Brothers: George (Patsy) Osland, McIntosh, Harold (Evelyn) Osland, Manito, IL, and Miles Osland, Moorhead. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant brothers and one infant sister at birth.
