Doris Rinkenberger, age 80, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday (November 29th) at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday (December 3rd) at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Dalen officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:15 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday (December 2nd) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Doris Lucille Fish was born on December 31, 1928 in Brandsvold Township, rural Fosston, Minnesota to parents George and Elsie (Mienert) Fish. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended rural school through the eighth grade and graduated from Fosston High School in 1947. Doris worked at Fuller's Tackle Shop in Park Rapids for one year.Doris was united in marriage to Harvey Rinkenberger on June 23, 1948 in Fosston. After their marriage, they resided and farmed in Rosebud Township, rural Fosston. Doris enjoyed farm and family life and always had the coffee on for drop in visitors. She enjoyed her grandchildren and was always available to babysit. She was an avid gardener, raised chickens and sold eggs for many years. She also enjoyed bus tours and road trips in the early years of retirement. In 2000 they sold the farm and moved into Fosston.Doris passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at First Care Hospital in Fosston at the age of 80 years.Survivors include her husband, Harvey "Jack" of Fosston; one son, Larry (June) of Palmdale, CA; two daughters, Carol Broadwell of Fosston and Brenda (Dave) Cornell of Horace, ND; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Delbert Fish of Babbitt, MN; one sister-in-law, Eunice Fish of Fosston; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Leonard (at birth), Herbert, Donald and Harry; two sisters, Leona and Charlotte Pearl; and one son-in-law, Victor Broadwell.
