Doris M. Nelson, age 96, of Oklee, MN, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 10th, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20th, at Trinity Free Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh with the Rev. Karl Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, June 19th, at the McIntosh Community Center in McIntosh. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Doris was born June 4, 1920 the daughter of William and Annie (Duesing) Grimm, in Lambert Township near Brooks, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in McIntosh. She attended country school for six years in rural Brooks. On November 25, 1939 she was united in marriage to Lloyd M. Nelson. They made their home on a farm near Brooks. Doris helped on the farm and worked many other jobs including sewing for many years at Wally Groberg's Factory in Oklee. In 1971 they moved into Oklee. Lloyd passed away July 16, 1976.Doris has been a member of Trinity Free Lutheran Church for the past 40 years. She will be remembered for her love for the Lord, putting her faith and trust in Jesus. Doris loved her family and friends unconditionally. She was especially proud of her great great grandchildren. Doris enjoyed crafts, gardening and attending Christian events. She moved to the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in March and enjoyed several family celebrations there, most recently her 96th birthday.Left to mourn are daughters - Dianne (Jerry) Turgeon of Baudette, MN and Carol (Einar) Kvasager of Oklee; grandchildren - Kelly (Amy Lyn) Turgeon, Mark (Lisa) Turgeon, Kim (Larry) Fosse, Michael Turgeon, Jodi (Tim) Kuznia, Todd Mattison, and Tammy (Arik) Payne; 18 great grandchildren; 15 great geat grandchildren, and four more this year; and sister - Violet Ferden. Several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers - Orville Grimm and LaVern Grimm; sister - Evelyn Nelson; brothers-in-law - Art Nelson, Art Pederson, and Maynard Ferden; and sisters-in-law - Florence Pederson, Nora Grimm, Marie Grimm, and Mabel Nelson.
