Doris M. Larsen, age 74, of Fosston, MN passed away on Tuesday, May 8th at her home in Fosston after a long courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11th at 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the church on Friday, and interment will be at Mickinock Cemetery near Wannaska, MN Friday afternoon following the funeral. Messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Doris Mae Larsen, the daughter of Almer Alfred and Margaret Johanna (Meyer) Kimble was born March 28, 1938 in Pencer, Roseau County, Minnesota.She and Robert Duane Larsen went together for two years and on March 27, 1957, they visited Raymond Palms and picked out there wedding rings and ordered. A week later they were engaged by Doris's house, a very exciting moment for both, and then married at the English Lutheran parsonage Saturday, June 29, 1957. They lived in the Pencer area and then moved to Fosston, Minnesota in January 1962. Duane and Doris have lived and raised their family in Fosston since that time. Doris worked in the Fosston area, and especially enjoying her day care and the "rat race" of small children in her home.She loved her flower gardens, gardening, her four little yorkies, and watching birds. In the fall she warmed the kitchen with the aroma of thousands of lefse sheets she rolled with pride and that was enjoyed by all. She also loved to spend time at the Spring Steel Resort on Lake of the Woods and loved to visit with family, relatives, friends and especially catching the Minnesota walleye and then enjoying a hearty dinner.She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.Doris passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at her home in Fosston after a long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 74 years.Survivors include children, Craig Larsen of Washington, D.C., Peggy Larsen of Fosston, MN, Calvin Larsen and his wife, Laurie of Fosston, MN, Pam Larsen of Fosston, MN and special friend, Dr. John Parkin; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Philip, Lisa, Nicholas, Brandon, Michael and Zachary; great grandchildren Alivia, Emma and soon a new arrival; special friends, Ashley Goldsmith, Elizabeth and Samantha Barrineau and Misti Goldsmith of Fosston, MN; brothers and sisters, Stella Burress, Margie (Milo) Broten, Eunice (John) Lund, Alfred (Eunice) Kimble, and Harvey (Ginger) Kimble. Relatives, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband Duane, and infant son, Dennis; and her parents and other relatives.Blessed be her memory
